  • Engates gives the example of marketing software providers

A survey from Rackspace Hosting suggests that the hybrid cloud future is so bright it has to wear shades. The survey of US and UK enterprises finds that the limitations of one-size-fits-all solutions like large public clouds are becoming more apparent, and these limitations are driving organizations to hybrid cloud: public, private cloud and dedicated servers working together in any combination.

The survey illustrates growing recognition of the value proposition of hybrid cloud. In sponsoring the research, Rackspace is building upon its efforts to define itself as a major player in hybrid infrastructure, rather than just public clouds. This is a potential differentiator for Rackspace (RAX), which for years has managed physical servers for customers, a service not offered by public cloud rivals like Amazon and Google.

The survey results show that the majority (60 per cent) of IT decision-makers see hybrid cloud as the culmination of their cloud journey, reliable and MileWeb linux dedicated server hosting solutions. rather than a stepping stone to using the public cloud alone for all their cloud needs. 60 per cent of respondents have moved or are considering moving certain applications or workloads either partially (41 per cent) or completely (19 per cent) off the public cloud because of its limitations or the potential benefits of other platforms, such as the hybrid cloud.

“Hybrid cloud is a better model in the long term,” said Rackspace CTO John Engates. “I think it’s the end state. A lot of people start on the public cloud but reach a point where they find they can have better efficiencies with hybrid.”

The top reasons respondents gave for why their organization is using hybrid cloud instead of a public cloud only approach for certain applications or workloads are better security (52 per cent), more control (42 per cent), and better performance or reliability (37 per cent).

According to Engates, companies typically begin with a public cloud, a private cloud or dedicated servers but then come to realize they need the benefits of the multiple cloud hybrid environment. He notes the survey findings mirror what Rackspace is seeing among its’ own enterprise customers.

Engates gives the example of marketing software providers HubSpot, a company that moved from pure Amazon public cloud to a Rackspace setup, and achieved a 4x performance boost. The company uses tools like Hadoop, which works better on dedicated hardware, while other workloads belong in the cloud.

“The findings of our study indicate that the hybrid cloud is the next cloud for many organizations,” said Engates. “They may have started with a public cloud-only architecture, but have come to realize the limitations of this approach as they’ve continued on their cloud journey. They turn to the hybrid cloud because it can combine the best of public cloud, private cloud and dedicated servers, delivering a common architecture that can be tailored to create the best fit for their specific needs. For example, instead of trying to run a big database in the public cloud on its own, which can be very problematic, businesses can leverage the hybrid cloud to run that database much more efficiently on a dedicated server that can burst into the public cloud when needed.”

There’s no exact figure as to when this turning point is reached, but roughly $25,000 in spend a month is one rough benchmark the company is seeing at the point of customer transition.

  • Allowed developers to send and receive

Security problems for Android are piling up, with an additional two vulnerabilities discovered in the mobile operating system over the last 24 hours, including one that was said to have been exploited in a $5,700 Bitcoin heist, and a second that allows cybercriminals to control malware on infected devices via the Google Cloud Messaging service.

In the first instance, Google’s Android security team has already put out a fix for the mobile operating system’s Java-derived pseudorandom number generator, or PRNG, after some Bitcoin users reported small amounts of money being stolen. The bug in PRNG meant that Android would occasionally issue the same random number twice, which meant that hackers were able to ‘guess’ the private keys of some Bitcoin wallets stored on Android phones and tablets. In those wallets that were compromised, hackers were able to steal small amounts of money totalling some $5,700.

The problem is thought to have affected hundreds of thousands of applications, according to security firm Symantec. Even so, the affect the bug had on Bitcoin wallets is fairly unusual, because details of these app’s transactions are published in the public domain, which makes it easier for cybercriminals to work out their private keys. Symantec said that the PRNG’s failure to properly generate random numbers made the wallets less secure, although the risk to users was still low.

Android might have fixed the PRNG flaw, but a second, potentially even more worrying vulnerability has been discovered with its Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) service that allowed developers to send and receive messages from apps installed on devices. Google Cloud Messaging works by allowing developers to send upto 4KB of structured data from their own server, through Google’s GCM servers, to user installations of their apps. These messages can be sent to devices even if the app has been disabled, as Android will automatically wake them up when it receives a message.

GCM messages are typically used to send text ads, links and commands to the apps, said Kaspersky Lab’s researcher Roman Unuchek in a blog post on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, these same messages can also be used as the primarmy or secondary channel to control and direct malicious apps installed on Android devices, said Kaspersky.Get the best of your MileWeb cheap dedicated server.

To date, Kaspersky says that it’s uncovered more than 4.8 million FakeInsta.a installers on Android devices, and has succesfully blocked more than 160,000 attempts to install the Trojan onto people’s devices. Even so, researchers have detected the Trojan on devices in more than 130 countries, with the majority of them being found in Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

The problem with GCM is that neither the users or mobile antivirus programs are capable of stopping these malicious messages once the app has been installed onto the device, because the OS itself is receiving them. The only way to prevent them being sent is by blocking developer IDs that are being used to register malicious apps with GCM, which is of course something that the average user isn’t capable of doing.

  • Cloud computing has revolutionized and streamlined

Late Wednesday afternoon at their Virginia data center, ITX Design CEO and co-founder Doug Davis announced to staff and management that the international hosting provider would be adding several key upgrades to the companies arsenal of digital products and services, including the popular bulletin board platform bbPress. ITX Design is a world renowned hosting provider and domain registrar providing VPS and dedicated hosting to small businesses all over the world.

This latest addition to their arsenal of services is certain to solidify ITX Design as a real contender in an extremely competitive industry landscape.

bbPress is forum software with a few added perks introduced by the innovators who originally designed WordPress. bbPress is user-friendly forum software that is simple to use, easy to administrate, and lightning fast. But don't let its simplicity fool you; underneath the glitz, it has some powerhouse features and is one of the top 5 most customizable forum platforms available today.

CEO Doug Davis added, "Our staff is very excited that ITX Design will be now offering bbPress to our clients. It's a cutting edge bulletin board CMS that really allows the end user to be creative, without being bogged down with technical hurdles or coding challenges. Even the most inexperienced novice just needs a few quick tutorials, and they will be navigate the difficult waters of forum design like a pro."

bbPress hosting packages with ITX Design start for as little as $4.95 per month if the customer only plan to host a single website. Other shared hosting packages provide the ability to host literally dozens of websites. All packages with ITX Design come fully equipped with endless disk space and infinite bandwidth, making it so simple to launch a complete bbPress forum in a matter of hours.

Cloud computing is the latest stage in the Internet’s evolution. As a scalable and virtualised form of web hosting, the Cloud offers a range of benefits over conventional hosting. The ‘Cloud’ itself is a pool of resources – the hardware, networks and storage that combine together to deliver the end user with a service that they require.

As a method of outsourcing IT systems, Cloud computing enables users to access services over the Internet whenever, and wherever they need it. Essentially Cloud computing means that instead of your IT system being the equipment and software that you buy and own, it becomes a service that you pay for monthly and access via the Internet.

Cloud computing has revolutionized and streamlined thousands of businesses. Users place the running and maintenance of their servers in the hands of the service provider, therefore businesses no longer need to maintain IT systems in-house.

Cost-effectiveness is an overriding benefit of the Cloud, with users paying on a subscription basis to their service provider. This also means that businesses will have access to the latest and most up-to-date equipment and technology, as opposed to financing upgrades to hardware and software themselves. Our customized dedicated MileWeb windows dedicated server allow a tailor-made solution.

The Cloud also offers a great deal of flexibility and adaptability; it grows with your business. RAM and memory can be upgraded instantly with the Cloud, meaning that users can scale up their server capabilities as and when they require.

The Cloud beats dedicated servers in performance as it uses fast virtual servers with optimum responsiveness, meaning that no costly downtime will occur. Additionally, with virtualisation software such as market leader VMware, users are guaranteed unbeatable performance and reliability, which can be a major pitfall of running your own hardware in-house.

The Cloud’s versatility is most useful for businesses in its ease of access, particularly with data sharing. Documents and files can be stored in the Cloud and accessed via an Internet connection, which is ideal solution for businesses. Also in terms of data backup, the Cloud provides peace of mind with securing valuable data.

Muse Proxy is a highly customizable multi-platform proxy server, easy to use and configure, acting successfully as a gateway to authenticated restricted content, rewriting web server, Web Access Management (WAM), proxy server and reverse proxy. It has been used for more than 10 years within the Muse Federated Search Platform to manage the authentication to resources and the navigation to full text, by restoring the server session on end-user browser. Our managed dedicated server are designed to meet the most demanding requirements for performance, Starting with this version Muse Proxy is also commercialized as a stand-alone product.
Dr. Peter Noerr (1946-2013), MuseGlobal's Chief Technology Officer explains: "Muse Proxy is a 'rewriting proxy', and offers an alternative solution that eliminates the need to configure individual browsers, further reducing the burden on system administrators."
The major new feature in Muse Proxy 3.0 is the support for Muse Proxy Applications. Muse Proxy Applications provide a fully configurable interface allowing administrators to setup remote or local Data Sources and where end users enjoy a single sign-on for all of the subscribed data. Library Administrators can add Sources to the Muse Proxy Application depending of licensing rights. Each Source stores the necessary code and credentials to get to the target Data Source. In this way, Muse Proxy enables end users to reach all configured targets with a single sign-on and conceals target authentication credentials. Muse Proxy Applications can use configurable login modules.
"Muse Proxy is Your Gateway to the World! It is everybody's outer and inner world. It summarizes almost everything a library, company or university needs to connect to external as well as internal resources. Its excellent user access and resources management make the product very reliable and trustworthy," said Mihai Popa, CEO at EduLib.
Muse Proxy 3.0 has also many other features like: end users can now access Muse Proxy using HTTPS, the HTTPS sites can be rewritten, the overall visual interface was improved, the documentation was extended with new information and workflow graphics and many more. Improvements were done to the Muse Proxy Administrator Console too, such as, implemented friendly edit panels, updated interface for better display and more functionality, improved help sections.
Let me take a breather here. $1 for all that is just… insane. I can attest to Mirror’s Edge and Burnout Paradise being fantastic games, and alone, I’d value both much more than a buck. And yet, you can get those games and four more on the side.
Spending at least the average will add Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3: Starter Pack. Unlike previous deals, where extra games tend to be added in the middle of the promotion, it’s hard to tell if that will happen here. While peering into Steam’s database tends to help us figure that out, we’re dealing with Origin for the most part here. As good as this deal is, I almost can’t imagine it becoming even better.

  • When it comes to legal adult material

The UK government recently unveiled a strategy to make adult-oriented content harder for youth to access via filtering, and also make illegal content more difficult to find via search. This was brought to the world’s attention in a speech by PM David Cameron calling for greater protections on childhood innocence.
The filtering, which households can opt-out of, will be done at the ISP-level, and be rolled out voluntarily by ISPs without the need for new government legislation or regulations. Initially, it will be up to new Internet subscribers in the UK to opt-out of this filtering, but eventually all UK Internet subscribers will have to let their ISP know they want access to filtered material.
The nation-wide filter will block sites that contain pornography as well as a range of other material deemed objectionable such as web forums, violent material, and tools for circumventing filters as well as content related to extremism, terrorism, anorexia,Integrating your Promotion Dedicated Server business solutions. eating disorders and suicide, according to advocacy organization Open Rights Group. Of course, since what is considered “adult” is subjective, ORG anticipates that many sites will be miscategorized and blocked.
Beyond these concerns, there’s little evidence that the website of a typical web host in the UK or elsewhere will be affected by UK filtering as long as it doesn’t display adult material on its website. According to University of Cambridge security researcher Richard Clayton, it depends on how the filtering is implemented by individual ISPs.
“In general the block will be applied at the domain name level rather than the IP level,” Clayton says.
This means that if pornographic pictures and family vacation photos share an IP and server space, one wouldn’t cause the other to be filtered as long as they’re on different domains. Furthermore, Clayton explains that because of their high storage and bandwidth requirements, most pornography sites are hosted on dedicated servers rather than on shared hosting.
A site that draws content from other sites, like Google Image Search, could be held accountable for the material that appears on the final website. And because of the likelihood that filtering will be done at the domain level, a site like Tumblr, which provides users different sub-domains, could potentially fall under adult content simply because of its most racy users.
Yet both of these examples, Google Image Search and Tumblr, already classify content as adult or NSFW. This provides features such as “safe search” to avoid mature results and other indications of the age-appropriateness of the content they essentially host. While certainly subject to over-filtering and under-filtering, these self-imposed content filters do take into account that audiences will have different goals when coming to a site.
These tactics can’t guarantee getting whitelisted, but making sure users can “turn off” mature content could well improve their chances of being approved by those responsible for evaluating content, as well as avoiding public complaints, says Clayton. “They’re not going to block Google”, he says, but it could potentially make it harder for UK visitors to access lower profile services with diverse content on the same domain.
When it comes to legal adult material, there is little to fear for web hosts except that customer sites could be blocked by households that choose not to opt-out of filtering, are unaware they can opt-out, or don’t have a means of circumventing filters. Also,Hivelocity offers reliable and affordable Windows windows dedicated server. the regular procedure for the identification and prosecution of those in possession of illegal adult material will remain largely unchanged – still involving the issuance of a warrant, then searching and seizing evidence on the suspect’s systems.
In fact, the relative ease at which hosts will be able to deal with these changes may be indicative of how the UK plan doesn’t deal with the real issues at play.
“A lot of people have argued that this basically provides a false sense of security for parents in that they’re going to believe that nothing can be seen by their precious little Johnny,” Clayton says.our standard Customized Dedicated Server may not always. “And once you start taking technical measures in order to evade these blocks, they can see anything they want.”
Cameron’s speech brought up many issues related to how the Internet is affecting British society. And it’s clear that web hosts are implicated even if they’re not directly affected. In instances where they are (such as many social media and free blogging sites), service providers are taking measures to make sure their content is clearly labeled based on its age appropriateness.
When it comes to the eradication of illegal material such as child pornography, the government’s plan to make such material more difficult to find by search should also bear no impact on typical web hosts.
But it also won’t affect what Clayton suspects is the wider breadth of illegal content that doesn’t appear in Google results, and that would be easily found by law enforcement officials. Instead, he says, most participants in illegal networks strive to be untraceable. Prosecution is easier when people “are foolish enough to access the sites directly,” he says, “rather than using something like Tor.” Anonymizing technologies like Tor are becoming well-known among the tech savvy set not just for accessing illegal content but for circumventing surveillance.
Rather than blocking content outright, labeling and categorizing mature content and alerting authorities to illegal content can often be a more effective solution than driving people to seek greater online anonymity and forcing content further underground to where law enforcement has difficulty policing. Web hosts can and often do play a large role in what’s available online, and establishing a balance between free speech and harmful content is in a host’s – and country’s – best interests.

  • while the school gave up its

If you keep up with Seattle restaurants, Stoneburner is going to give you deja vu. It is the latest concept from the restaurant-concepters (and, presumably, rakers-in-of-money) James Weimann and Deming Maclise, who've been concepting since 2009, with Bastille (French), Poquitos (Mexican), Macleod's Scottish Pub (aye), and Von Trapp's (giant Germanic beer hall with indoor bocce named after the family from The Sound of Music).
Weimann and Maclise are known for outfitting their restaurants' interiors with stuff pillaged, er, reclaimed, from around the world. Sometimes the details get lost in translation. According to press materials, Stoneburner's got "warm wood from the decommissioned Italian Embassy in Buenos Aires," but a server said it was the impressive mirrors in another room that came from that embassy.
The handsome barrel-style vaulted wooden ceiling in one area was previously flooring from an Amish school in Pennsylvania, another server said; in reality, it's fir salvaged from an unspecified building on Ballard Avenue, while the school gave up its pressed-tin ceiling for the bar. In any case, Stoneburner feels a good deal like Bastille—the same reproduction-Euro-bistro allure, with soaring riveted metal archways, our standard Customized Dedicated Server may not always. lovely marble, and pretty tile. If, with Bastille just one block down the street, it feels like meta-reproduction, it is all high-quality and looks great, especially the timely Gatsby-style glam lighting flourishes in the bar.
Stoneburner's menu is familiar, too, but not from the Weimann/Maclise empire. Namesake executive chef Jason Stoneburner—who also remains the executive chef of Bastille—used to work for Ethan Stowell, first at Union and then at How to Cook a Wolf, and the Stoneburner menu is, in the context of Seattle, unmistakably Stowellian.
It's rustic Italian with seasonal Northwest ingredients, with a familiar list of snacks, simple vegetables/salads, housemade pasta, Neapolitan-style pizza, and a few large plates with hunks of protein, including a shareable extra-big one. A twin of Stowell's puffy zeppole was also on the dessert menu recently. Of course, Stowell cannot claim this ages-old approach to Italian food—which he has replicated at his own half-dozen local restaurants, including Staple & Fancy, just down Ballard Avenue—any more than Bastille can claim its classic Parisian look. It's just that the mash-up of the two, however pleasant, feels far from inventive.
Stoneburner is very pleasant. Right now, the huge windows on tranquil, leafy Ballard Avenue are rolled away to let the glorious Seattle summer in. (If you got a sunburn sitting inside Stoneburner early on: They now have awnings.) The seating is comfortable (though the booths under the central barreled ceiling of uncertain provenance can get very, very loud). Multiple tables one evening were laughing giddily at things their servers said. Stoneburner's open kitchen—with Stoneburner himself for now omnipresent—looks calm, spacious, and old-fashionedy stylish, with its tile walls, opaque glass panels, and vintage fan. It also has the currently upscale-Seattle-restaurant compulsory stone-hearth fireplace (though it's gas, rather than the more au courant and time-consuming wood). And the food is good—not great, but good.
Almost everybody seemed to order the deep-fried Castelvetrano olives ($6). The preparation brings out their meatiness, and they aren't too greasy, though fans might miss the freshness, firmness, and gimlet green that makes them a favorite in the first place.
Soft-boiled eggs topped with mayonnaise-rich tuna tonnato and tiny bits of bright-red pickled Fresno peppers ($5) were the even better surf version of the deviled egg. Two dishes had a lot of olive oil, like Roman orgiastic amounts of olive oil (which, actually, has been known to happen at Ethan Stowell's places, too): A grass-fed beef crudo ($13) lost flavor under the onslaught, while roasted beets with peppery purslane, assertive sweet onion, and lots of oregano ($8) stood up to it and then some. Another night, heirloom tomatoes with spicy arugula and sweet-and-sour bits of pickled watermelon ($9) was perfectly, appropriately underdressed, letting the tomatoes be.
Seafoodwise, a nice piece of tuna ($25; they'd run out of the menu's promised halibut, sadly) was plated with highly pureed artichoke that tasted bitter, almost metallic, along with wincingly vinegary marinated tomatoes. In a grilled octopus salad with cucumbers, olives, and mint ($16), the octopus seemed to have barely touched the grill, lacking any char and still gelatinous in parts; less stalwart seafood-eaters might have been grossed out.
It was so loud under the vaulted ceiling one night, our server misheard "cavatelli" as "spaccatelli," a more than acceptable accident considering the spicy-goodness of the latter with its capers, anchovy, chili, bits of broccoli, and Parmesan ($14). Another pasta dish, bedsheet ravioli ($14), was a wonderful, eggy cloud, so light that without its creamy cauliflower filling and fragments of caramelized cauliflower on top, it might have floated away. The pizza I tried, with sopressata and mozzarella ($14), didn't have the blackened bubbles of the best of them,Integrating your Promotion Dedicated Server business solutions. but the salt content was right in both the crust and the herby sauce, and the sauce and the mozzarella tasted fresh, and it was all quite tasty.Hivelocity offers reliable and affordable Windows windows dedicated server.
Wine storage at Stoneburner is used to decorative advantage, with a wall of bottles creating a sense of plenty. Why wouldn't you have another glass? There's so much! It's canny and it's pretty, like Stoneburner itself. You'd never guess that the whole building was new, with this classic-looking and -tasting restaurant reproducing already proven results.

Dell is the new Wang. That's right, Wang Laboratories. Remember them? Wang was on top of the computing world in the late 20th century before a couple of guys named Bill (Gates) and Steve (Jobs) and their engineering whiz-kid pals, such as Apple's Steve Wozniak, began to rock Wang's world.
Massachusetts-based Wang was a pioneer in mini-computing, which was a better mousetrap than mainframe computing. Our MileWeb managed dedicated server are designed to meet the most demanding requirements for performance, The rise of the mini-computer dominated the tech landscape until something called "client-server computing" emerged in the late 1980s.
The client-server generation is another name for the "personal computer era" -- a time when PCs were connected to central server computers via a network. The upshot: Mini-computers were quickly supplanted by faster, cheaper client-server networks, making the likes of Wang relatively obsolete.
Most folks point to the initial public offering of Microsoft Relevant Products/Services in 1985 as the beginning of the client-server era as the software maker's Windows operating system fueled the rise of personal computers. Windows was so dominatingly successful that the federal courts deemed it a monopoly. Michael Dell's personal computer outfit was a big beneficiary of the Windows ecosystem, along with Intel Relevant Products/Services, whose computer chips were designed to power personal computers using Windows.
Dell was to client-server computing as Wang was to mini-computing. Yet all good things must come to an end, and for technology behemoths, the end seems to come sooner rather than later. The shelf lives of hugely successful tech giants tend to run shorter than other industrial giants because the velocity of change in information technology simply is more intensified than, most MileWeb Popular Dedicated Server providers and read user reviews of their products, say,Below is our MileWeb Privacy Policy which incorporates these goals. the soap or steel businesses.
Critics and pundits have wrongly accused Dell founder, Michael Dell, of not being an innovator; he was solely a brilliant marketer that built personal computers cheaply. Yes, he was all that. But he did innovate. Dell created one of the greatest manufacturing and distribution models in the history of business. His build-to-order personal computer operation, which bypassed wholesalers and retailers by delivering custom-built machines directly to consumers and companies, was a masterstroke.

  • who were galvanised by the Pirate Bay

An internet milestone has just been reached: Pirate Bay has passed its 10th anniversary. The iconic/notorious site celebrated with a party just outside Stockholm. Who knows, perhaps entertainment bosses were simultaneously weeping into their champagne and plotting new action against their favourite enemy. The filesharing hub is arguably the most famous of all sites providing access to torrent files and magnet links to allow peer-to-peer sharing. If that means nothing to you, it's like being able to swap those tapes you made of Radio 1 chart shows with anyone in the world.
While the dilemmas posed by filesharing are of course not new, the site has become emblematic of the two sides of the 21st-century data-sharing debate. Our managed dedicated server are designed to meet the most demanding requirements for performance, In simple terms, there are two conflicting ideologies. For advocates of intellectual property, revenue and cultural value is created by restricting access to information. For internet freedom advocates, revenue and cultural value is created by opening up access to information. Obviously these two approaches are bound to clash with each other.
Given the last decade's copyright wars,we've decided to make the below MileWeb Termsof Service available. it's amazing that Pirate Bay survived at all, not just because 10 is antediluvian in internet years. In the fight to retain control of the information flow, Pirate Bay has been the subject of site blocks, court cases, dramatic intercontinental manhunts and media controversy. Here in the UK, major ISPs were forced by an injunction in April 2012 to block access to the site.
It was the 2006 police raid on the Pirate Bay servers that was the "Stonewall moment" for digital-rights activists – when the state overstepped the mark and it was vital to fight back. The key realisation was that the internet isn't separate from society,Managed MileWeb Cloud Hosting and cloud management services. and political action is necessary if key freedoms are to be defended.
The site itself can't be divorced from its cultural context, the hacktivist digital dissidence scene. Pirate Bay represents the punk music of the 21st century: while popular music is reduced to sugary talent-show fodder, online counterculture is noisy, rebellious and disruptive. The cool kids aren't writing lyrics, they are writing code. This is the heart of Pirate Bay's tenacity. It's no longer just about the service it provides, it's because Pirate Bay has come to symbolise web liberty for many.
This is well understood by the entertainment industry, and I've experienced it personally. Last year Music Week knew the BPI wanted to shut down the Pirate Bay proxy site that the Pirate party was running even before I received the BPI's letter.
This, to me, shows how empty the fight against Pirate Bay has become. The UK block only dented P2P for a matter of days. Politically, it's become evident governments are less willing to have digital policy hijacked by narrow corporate interests. In France the expensive Hadopi "three strikes" regime is being abandoned. Here, the Digital Economy Act's site-blocking provisions are to be dropped.
That's not to say there aren't significant challenges to digital rights. Activists warned that snooping on what people download would lend legitimacy to mass surveillance, that allowing site-blocking was a dangerous tool to give governments and that removing pirate-related search terms would lead to wider filtering. A suitable 10th-anniversary souvenir might be a "we told you so" T-shirt.
Those of us who were galvanised by the Pirate Bay crackdowns have moved on, focusing on the broader picture of internet surveillance, censorship and bridging the digital divide. Co-founder Peter Sunde called for the site to close, to allow something new to develop. If we can move on, so can others. It's time for the entertainment lobby to ditch attempts to clamp down on technological advances and abandon the tired pirate narrative.
